NORFOLK, Va. -- The Norfolk State University softball team returns to the field this weekend as they gear up to co-host their final early season tournament the Pirate/Spartan Classic this Saturday and Sunday at the NSU Softball Field. Head Coach
Carrie Hoeft announced changes to the original schedule due to expected weather in the forecast. All games have been pushed back a day from Friday and Saturday to Saturday and Sunday.
The tournament, co-hosted with cross-bay rival Hampton University, is slated to run Saturday and Sunday with games at NSU scheduled to play the University of Delaware and Binghamton University on day one, while taking on George Washington University and Penn State University on day two.
The Spartans (7-4) will kick off the action on Saturday, March 4, against the Blue Hens (5-8) of Delaware at 11 AM and end the day's action with a 3:30 PM game against the Bearcats (5-5) of Binghamton. Acton resumes on Sunday with a back-to-back games against the Colonials of GWU and Nittany Lions of PSU at 12:30 PM and 3 PM respectively.
