NORFOLK, Va. | The Norfolk State University Spartan softball team returns to the NSU Softball Field to host the reigning MEAC Champions in the Bison of Howard University for a three game series in Norfolk, VA.
The Spartans (8-10) head into the weekend after going 1-2 at the Purple/Gold Invitational hosted by East Carolina University capping the weekend with a 13-5 six-inning win over the Minutewomen from Massachusetts. The trip to ECU wrapped up NSU's early season tournament slate.
NSU is led by fifth-year senior shortstop
Jade Dixon at the plate with a .317 batting average, while senior pitcher
Alexis Robinson leads the Spartans in the circle pitching 61.1 innings. Only three Spartans have started all 18 games so far this season in #11

Rylie Gilbreath (C) have appeared in all 18 games making 16 starts each, while

Norfolk State and Howard will play a pair of games on Saturday, March 18, and a single on Sunday, March 19. Game times are set for 1 PM and 3 PM on Saturday, and 11:30 AM on Sunday. Games one (1 PM, Saturday) and three (11:30 AM, Sunday) will air on the ESPN Network with Saturday's game airing on ESPN+ and Sunday's on ESPNU. The three games this weekend will be the 52nd, 53rd, and 54th match ups between the two teams since 2002.
