CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Kai Cole headlined the podium of three different events on Saturday, leading the Spartans in a successful day at the Virginia Quadrangular.

Hosted by the University of Virginia, the showcase featured four talented programs: Norfolk State, Virginia, Saint Francis, and Liberty.

Cole crossed the finish line ahead of his competitors in the 100 meters and 200 meters with times of 10.32 and 20.93, respectively. He also helped the Spartans' 4x100 relay squad (Cole, Anthony Frankin, Bryan Madison-Ahouman, and Dwight Henry) take first in 41.72.

Norfolk State excelled in the relays on Saturday, finishing second in the 4x400 (Jeremiah Zellander, Dazon Harrison, Devon Mosley, Knasir Alston) with a time of 3:23.18.

Cole led a tremendous day for Norfolk State's sprinters. Madison-Ahouman (10.51) and Dwight Henry (10.73) took fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100 meters, while Zellander (21.53) and Madison-Ahouman (21.54) placed fourth and fifth in the 200 meters.

Terric Jones also nabbed a top finish for the Spartans, taking first in the high jump by clearing a mark of six feet, 4.25 inches.

The personal record from the freshman led a terrific field day for the Spartans, with Camren Wynder-Hill taking second in the long jump with a leap of 24 feet, 1.25 inches. Isaac Haywood also nabbed a runner-up prize in the triple jump (48-5.5).

Rayquan Smith and Raeshon Smith led the Spartan throwers on Saturday. The former took seventh in the hammer throw (133-4), while the latter took eight in the discus (110-7).
