NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team will face fierce competition from Liga de Baloncesto Puertorriquena (LBP) this weekend in Puerto Rico, the Spartans' first offseason foreign trip since the team went to Costa Rica in 2016.
NSU will play three exhibition games while in Puerto Rico, with each matchup streamed live on Facebook.
After spending Friday participating in team bonding activities, The Spartans will take on LBP White All-Stars on Saturday at 6 p.m. AST at Mario Morales Coliseum.
Norfolk State will face LBP Blue All-Stars on Sunday at 7 p.m., this time at the Ruben Zayas Montanez Coliseum. The Spartans will conclude their trip on Monday at 7 p.m. against LBP Red All-Stars, also at the Ruben Zayas Montanez Coliseum.
The Spartans earned yet another spot in the MEAC Tournament championship game in 2022-23, their fourth appearance in the title bout of the last five years. That lone year without a championship berth came in 2019-20, when the COVID-19 pandemic cut the season short.
