Vaughn Accepted into N4A Professional Development Institute Program

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State Director of Academics & Student Support Services Ashley Vaughn has been accepted to the N4A Professional Development Institute (PDI), a valuable learning experience for rising members of athletic administration.

The N4A Professional Development Institute was created with the vision to provide an innovative professional development experience for individuals seeking to excel in the field of student-athlete support services. Over the years, PDI has expanded to five tracks. In June of 2017, PDI was officially renamed to honor the leadership and spirit of its founder, Steve McDonnell. Beginning in November 2020, PDI shifted to a comprehensive professional development offering all five tracks simultaneously every two years in the late fall.

The 2024 PDI will be held from Nov.10-12 in Kansas City, Miss.

I am excited to join an amazing group of likeminded individuals interested in continuing to develop professionally," Vaughn said. "I am committed to learning more about my profession at a higher level and growing into the most amazing practitioner the field has to offer."

Graduates of PDI have gone on to become nationally recognized leaders in the fields of student-athlete support services, college athletics and conference administration, and higher education. Many alumni have also served in leadership roles for N4A and on various NCAA committees.

Vaughn began her time at Norfolk State as a senior academic advisor, providing guidance and support to students in pursuing their academic goals. She has since stepped into the role of director of academics & student support services, making the transition seamlessly.
