FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Norfolk State football team plays its third consecutive game away from home this Saturday, looking to get back in the win column against a Northeast Conference (NEC) opponent.

The Spartans (2-4, 0-1 MEAC) battle Sacred Heart (2-3, 0-0 NEC) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Campus Field. The matchup marks just the second-ever meeting between the programs, and the first since 2022.

Norfolk State reached the midway point in the 2024 campaign with a 37-10 loss to North Carolina Central in the 40
th Annual Circle City Classic last week, played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. The Spartans have picked up wins this year against Virginia State and Virginia Military Institute.

Sacred Heart fell 49-0 to Delaware last week, giving up all 49 points in the game's first three quarters. The Pioneers beat Saint Anselm for its first win of the season on Sep. 7, followed by a 40-14 victory over Georgetown a week later.
