NORFOLK, Va. -- Fresh off one of its biggest wins of the season, the Norfolk State volleyball team rides its three-match win streak into its last two home matches of the regular season.

The Spartans (12-12, 6-5 MEAC), who sit currently in fourth place in the MEAC, take on Coppin State on Friday at 6 p.m., before facing Morgan State on Sunday at 2 p.m. for "Senior Day".

Norfolk State defeated South Carolina State (3-0), Maryland Eastern Shore (3-2), and Delaware State (3-2) in its last three matches, with the win over DSU marking one of the biggest of the season.

The Spartans obtained many feats in the huge win over the Hornets. Junior setter Sydney McCree surpassed her 2,000th career assist, finishing with a 33-assist, 11-dig double-double.

Sophomore Gabrielle GIlbert nearly tallied a triple-double, finishing with 17 kills, seven block assists, and nine digs.

The Spartans recorded 32 block assists, the third highest in school history in a single-match, with the help of freshman Reagan Chisholm. The first-year middle blocker secured 10 block assists, tied for fourth most in a single match in Norfolk State history.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WHAT'S NEXT
Norfolk State travels to Washington, D.C. to face Howard in the regular season finale on Friday, Nov. 15. After Howard, the Spartans head to the 2024 MEAC Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Delaware State, slated for Nov. 22-24 in Dover, Del.
