RALEIGH, N.C. - The Norfolk State bowling team competed in the 2024 MEAC Bowling Championships from March 22-23 as the seventh seed, defeating No. 2 seed Delaware State and falling to No. 8 Howard on day two of the tournament.
The No. 7 seeded Spartans upset the No. 2 seeded Hornets for the second time in as many days, defeating the Hornets, 2-1, with wins in the traditional team match and in the Baker-best of seven series match.
The Spartans won 920-879 in the traditional game and won 4-2 in the Baker best-of-seven game.
After their win over Delaware State, the Spartans faced the No. 8 seeded Bison of Howard.Â
The Spartans fell to the Bison after losing both their traditional team match and the Baker total pinfall match. In the traditional team game, the Spartans fell 840-740.
In the Baker total pinfall match, the Spartans lost by only six pins, 868-862.
The No. 3 seeded Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore claimed the 2024 MEAC Bowling Championship title after defeating the No. 1 seeded Aggies of North Carolina A&T.
