NORFOLK, Va. – In the midst of two outstanding indivuals, Norfolk State outfielder
Justin Journette and catcher
Manny Jackson have been selected to the 2024 Minority Baseball Prospects HBCU All-Star Game.

The HBCU All-Star Game is slated for Saturday, June 1 at 7 p.m., held at the University of Houston. The fourth edition of the event will close out the festivities of the all-star weekend, featuring youth clinics, fan engagement opportunities, and a home run derby.

The recognition comes after Journette recently became the first Norfolk State baseball player to reach double-digit home runs in a single season since Reggie Terry achieved the feat in 1995.

Leading the Northeast Conference (NEC) with 12 home runs on the year, Journette has tallied a .312 batting average with 38 RBIs, 20 walks, nine doubles, and three triples.
Jackson will make his second appearance in the event, after earning a 2023 selection as well. Leading the Spartans with a .349 batting average, he has accumulated 65 hits, 27 RBIs. and 24 runs this season.
