CARY, N.C. --- The Norfolk State women's cross-country team earned a runner-up finish as a team at the MEAC Championships on Saturday morning.
Norfolk finished 3-4-7-13-27 for 54 total points to take second. Howard captured the team title with 34 points, while North Carolina Central took third with 71 points.
Sonia Koech led the Spartans, taking third and All-MEAC honors with a time of 18:31.50, while
Abigael Chebet followed closely behind in fourth with All-MEAC honors, clocking a time of 18:45.80.
Jahmei Wyatt finished the 5k course with a time of 18:58.70 to take seventh with All-MEAC honors.
Amira Dailey also took All-MEAC honors with a time of 19:20.40, placing 13th, while
Moamiky Kenneh rounded out the Spartans' finishers with a time of 20:27.70 to take 27th.
