NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior outside hitter
Gabrielle Gilbert earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday evening.

The Indianapolis, Ind. native led Norfolk State to three wins last week, defeating Hampton (3-1), South Carolina State (3-0), and North Carolina Central (3-2).

Gilbert opened the week with a season- and career-high 26 kills at Hampton, hitting .288 with five digs, two blocks, and two aces.

She continued her strong play against South Carolina State, posting 15 kills, eight digs, and two aces in the sweep against SCSU.

Gilbert closed the week against NCCU with a double-double, recording 19 kills and 10 digs, along with three blocks and two aces in the five-set victory.

Norfolk State is set to return to action on Friday, Nov. 10, taking on Howard at Gill Gymnasium. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
