DOVER, Del. - Norfolk State competed in their second conference meet of the season, the MEAC #2 Tournament, this past weekend.
The MEAC #2 Tournament consisted of seven five-person total pinfall matches. The Spartans competed against Alabama at Birmingham, North Carolina A&T, Maryland Eastern Shore, Howard, Delaware State, Coppin State and Morgan State.
Day one the Spartans fell to UAB (1,088-891), NCAT (1,019-919), UMES (973-942), and HU (906-696).
Against North Carolina A&T, both
Jalaya Allen (204) and
Kiersten Michel (209) posted 200 or more pins. Michel also tallied 200 or more against UMES, totaling 215, with
Jalaya Allen joining her with 222.
On day two, the Spartans defeated Coppin State (84-82) in tiebreakers after the Spartans and Eagles tied at 850 through five bowlers.Â
Norfolk State fell to MSU (906-866) and Delaware State (810-792) to end the tournament.
The Spartans will compete again from Feb. 28-Mar. 2 in Greensboro, N.C. in the Stallings Invitational hosted by North Carolina A&T.
