NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State men's basketball guard
Brian Moore Jr. has been named to the NABC East District Second Team, joining a decorated club of Norfolk State greats.
Moore has taken the MEAC by storm in his lone season with the Spartans after transferring from Murray State. The Harlem, N.Y. product currently averages 18.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game while shooting 54.6 percent from the floor and 40.0 percent from behind the arc. He is the only guard in the nation averaging at least 18.0 points per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the field or better (min. 20 games played).
Receiving MEAC Player of the Week accolades five times this season, Moore has recorded three 30-point games including a 33-point outing at High Point. He was named the Lou Henson National Player of the Week in December, awarded to the top performer in mid-major basketball.
Leading the Spartans to their fourth-ever MEAC Tournament title, Moore took home the MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player Award.
Moore becomes the first Spartan selected to an NABC All-District Team since Joe Bryant Jr. earned first team honors during the 2022-23 season.
