BOSTON, Mass. ---- The Norfolk State women's basketball team received the No. 5 ranking in the latest College Insider Mid Major Women's Basketball Top 25 poll. This week's ranking marks NSU's highest ranking in the poll this year.
NSU earned the No. 5 ranking following a pair of road wins against South Carolina State (88-57) and North Carolina Central (96-57).
In its 15th season of existence, the mid-major poll recognizes the top teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.
The Spartans close out the regular season on Thursday, Mar. 6 at 5 p.m. against Howard on ESPNU.
