| By:
NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Norfolk State men's track and field team came in at No. 27 in the first outdoor USTFCCCA National poll announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

The selection marks NSU's highest spot in the poll in program history, with the previous highest ranking at No. 31 in the 2009 outdoor preseason poll.

The USTFCCA is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels.

NSU has put together a successful outdoor track season so far that includes the 4x400 relay team consisting of Premier Wynn, Tafari Bishop, Kendrick Winfield, and Vincent Bond Jr. clocking a time of 3:05.67, which currently ranks third in the nation. Wynn's 400-meter hurdle time of 50.67 also sits as the third best time in NCAA Division I.

The Spartans also received the No. 11 ranking in the USTFCCA Southeast region poll.
