NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team has swept the MEAC weekly awards after a tremendous two-match stretch, announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Sophomore
Jakub Solarski earned MEAC Player of the Week honors, while MEAC Rookie of the Week went to freshman
Igor Kubalka.

Norfolk State started the week with a dominant 6-1 victory over Hampton, avenging a 4-3 loss to the Pirates from earlier in the season. The Spartans kept the momentum going with a 4-3 road triumph at Navy, bringing their win streak to eight consecutive matches.

Solarski took down Hampton's Donte Armbrister 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 1 position, after winning 6-2 at the No. 3 doubles slot alongside teammate
Deniz Okyay. He earned another victory at the top spot against Navy's J.J. Etterbeek in a 7-5, 6-1 result.

Kubalka helped Norfolk State win the doubles point against Hampton with a 6-4 triumph at the No. 2 position alongside
Frederick McRae. The pair won 6-2 at the No. 3 position against Navy, before Kubalka beat Steve Nguyen 7-5, 6-3 at the No. 5 singles slot.

Norfolk State takes on South Carolina State on Thursday morning at NSU Tennis Complex, with first serve set for 11 a.m.
