| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State tennis program landed four players on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team – two from the men's team and two from the women's team.

Boris Lunin and Jakub Solarski earned the distinguished honor on the men's side, while Irina Iurea and Sabina Iurea received the recognition for the women's squad.

Solarski was named to the All-MEAC First Team after a tremendous sophomore season, following a MEAC Rookie of the Year campaign in 2024. He went 16-5 in singles, including a 10-1 mark at the No. 2 position.

Lunin played in limited singles matches but played a crucial role in doubles during the 2025 season. The graduate student logged 13 matches at the top doubles spot, earning a 7-6 (7-5) victory against Morgan State's Bertin Kerenzi and Mikeal Carpenter – the latter winning the 2025 MEAC Player of the Year award.

Irina Iurea won played the No. 2, 4, 5, and 6 singles positions throughout the 2025 season, amassing a 10-9 record. She helped the Spartans get out to a strong start during nonconference play, racking up singles victories against Wagner, Shaw, and Hampton.

Sabina Iurea put together an 8-8 singles record and 4-5 doubles mark this year, providing depth in both areas for the Spartans. Her strongest moment came in the postseason, helping Norfolk State earn a spot in the MEAC Tournament semifinals with dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory over Delaware State's Brooklyn Bowen.
