CARY, N.C. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team earned three All-MEAC postseason honors on Wednesday evening, as announced during the conference's annual awards ceremony.
Szymon Malecki highlighted the Spartan selections with an All-MEAC First Team nod, while Dominik Simunovic and Marcin Andrzejczak were named to the All-MEAC Second Team.
Malecki served as a steady force in Norfolk State's lineup, compiling a 14-7 singles record against a competitive slate of opponents. He notched key non-conference victories over Hampton, Xavier (La.), Southern Miss, William & Mary, and Temple, while also earning wins against N.C. A&T, Longwood, Wagner, Presbyterian, and others.
In MEAC play, Malecki went a perfect 4-0 in singles, showcasing consistency at the top of the lineup. He also contributed in doubles action with wins over Xavier (La.) and Virginia State.
Simunovic delivered a standout season, posting a 15-5 singles record primarily at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions. He closed the year strong, winning nine of his final 12 matches, including a 3-0 showing at the MEAC Tennis Round Up.
In conference play, Simunovic was dominant, earning straight-set victories over Coppin State, Howard, and Morgan State, while adding another win against Hampton. He also secured multiple non-conference victories against Xavier (La.), Southern Miss, Louisiana, Navy, North Carolina A&T, Temple, Wagner, and Rider.
In doubles, Simunovic added depth across multiple flights, tallying five wins with victories over Xavier (La.), New Orleans, Shaw, Temple, and Hampton.
A two-time MEAC Rookie of the Week selection, Andrzejczak turned in an impressive freshman campaign with an 11-8 singles record while consistently facing top competition. He demonstrated resilience throughout the season with several comeback victories, including a three-set win over Presbyterian and a key rally against Morgan State at the MEAC Round Up.
At the Round Up, Andrzejczak went a perfect 3-0 in singles with wins over Coppin State, Howard, and Morgan State, playing a key role in Norfolk State's conference success. He also secured non-conference victories against Old Dominion, Hampton, Xavier (La.), North Carolina A&T, and Rider.
Andrzejczak contributed in doubles as well, recording seven wins to provide additional strength to the Spartans' lineup.
Norfolk State opens play in the 2026 MEAC Tennis Championships on Thursday as the No. 3 seed, facing No. 6 seed Coppin State in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. All matches will be held at Cary Tennis Park, with live scoring available on the IOnSport app.
