NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State baseball team has altered its weekend homestand against Mercyhurst in preparation of inclement weather on Sunday's forecast.

The Spartans and Lakers will open the series on Friday, May 2 with a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. The teams will conclude the weekend with a single game on Saturday, May 3 at 1 p.m. No game will take place on Sunday, May 4.

Norfolk State enters this weekend's series off a breakthrough victory, taking down league-leading Central Connecticut State 13-2 on Sunday afternoon. Fueled by 18 total hits, as well as tremendous pitching performances from
Nathaniel Varnier and
Myles Crocker, the Spartans handed the Blue Devils their first NEC loss since Mar. 8.
