Bryant Named Most Valuable Player of Greek Elite League

ATHENS, Greece – Norfolk State basketball great Joe Bryant Jr. continues to shine in the professional ranks after a decorated collegiate career.
 
Bryant was named Most Valuable Player of the Greek A2 Elite Basketball League for the 2024-2025 season earlier this week, putting together a dominant campaign in his first year with Psychikou Basketball Club.
 
Bryant won the league's scoring title by a comfortable margin, averaging 20.1 points per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 91.4 percent at the free throw line. He recorded 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest, adding a league-best 2.1 steals per game as well.
 
The Norfolk native led Pyschikou to an 18-12 record, finishing fourth among 16 teams. Bryant recorded a season-best 39 points against Mykonou, shooting 14-21 from the field and 11-of-11 from the free throw line.

Bryant has excelled across multiple countries since departing NSU. The 6-1 guard averaged 24.1 points per game for Polish club WKS Śląsk II Wrocław during the 2023-24 season, earning MVP honors of the Pekao SA I Men's League.

Scoring 1,747 points in five years at Norfolk State, Bryant led the Spartans to back-to-back MEAC Tournament titles in 2021 and 2022. A two-time MEAC Player of the Year, he was named MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player after both championship runs.
