NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State football team has added another transfer standout to one of its strongest position groups ahead of the 2025 season.
Â
The Spartans signed Rontravious Perry to his National Letter of Intent (NLI) this week, a quality addition to the linebacker room led by position coach LaRoy Reynolds. A 6-1, 215-pound product from New Mexico State, Perry brings Conference USA experience to the roster.
Â
Perry made the most of limited opportunities on the field last season, recording eight tackles while contributing to the special teams unit. Â He made two tackles in the Aggies' home victory over Southeast Missouri State, helping hold the Redhawks to 16 points for the afternoon.
Â
Perry played two seasons at Coffeyville Community College before reaching New Mexico State. The Covington, Ga. native recorded 15 tackles during his sophomore season, including 4.5 sacks and 1.5 tackles for loss. Registering several big plays, Perry recovered one fumble, intercepted one pass, recorded a pass breakup, and blocked a kick.
Â
A two-way player at Covington High School, Perry earned Region 4-AAAAAAA honorable mention accolades as well as a spot on the All-Covington News Team for his exceptional performance as both a linebacker and running back.
