NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State swept the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) cross country awards this week as
Ian Kimutai and
Sonia Koech claimed Runner of the Week honors after standout performances at the UMES Season Opener.
Kimutai won the men's 5K race with a time of 15 minutes, 12.51 seconds, leading the Spartans to a dominant team finish.
Koech captured the women's 3k title, clocking a time of 16:06.19 to pace the field.
Norfolk State continues its season on Sept. 12 at the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
