NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State will look for its first win of the season on Saturday when it hosts Virginia State in the "Battle of the States" at William "Dick" Price Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
The Spartans (0-1) aim to hand the Trojans (1-0) their first loss of the season. Norfolk State edged Virginia State 28-23 last year and has won eight of the last 10 meetings.
"We are going to be ready for the challenge this week, we are excited to defend our turf," head coach Michael Vick said. "Football is all about competing, we are excited to play a rivalry game this week."
Quarterback
Otto Kuhns led the Spartans in the opener, completing 19 of 27 passes for 222 yards, the top mark in the MEAC last week. Wideouts
DreSean Kendrick (125 yards) and Kam'ryn Thomas (101 yards) both topped the 100-yard mark. Linebacker
Major Dillard paced the defense with eight tackles, including five solo stops.
