Know Before You Go: Football vs. North Carolina Central | Military & First Responders Appreciation Day
Saturday, November 7 | William "Dick" Price Stadium | Kickoff: 12 p.m.
Norfolk State hosts North Carolina Central on Saturday, and we're honoring the service members, veterans and first responders who serve Hampton Roads every day. Here's everything you need to know before you head to campus.
Military and First Responder Access
Active-duty military, veterans and first responders (EMS, fire and police) can enter the game by showing their badge or military identification at any exterior campus gate. Veterans may present a military retiree ID. No advance ticket purchase is required for these honorees. Active-duty military, military retirees and first responders may bring up to three guests on one government-issued ID.
Everyone Else: Have Your Ticket Before You Arrive
Under NSU's 2026 game day entry policy, every person entering campus must have a valid game ticket, whether arriving on foot or in a vehicle, and that includes every passenger. A parking pass or tailgate pass is not a game ticket. The Box Office is closed on game day, and tickets cannot be purchased inside the campus perimeter, so buy yours in advance at nsuspartanstickets.universitytickets.com. All entry is through designated perimeter gates with security screening.
Gates and Timing
Campus gates open at 8 a.m., and stadium gates open at 10 a.m. Arrive early to allow time for entry at the campus perimeter, especially if you plan to tailgate.
Parking
The MacArthur Center North and South Garages are available free of charge for game patrons. From there, you have two free ways to reach the stadium. Shuttle buses queue at the MacArthur South Garage and run directly to the stadium, or you can catch The Tide light rail at MacArthur Station. Complimentary light rail rides are available two hours before and two hours after the game. The closest stations to the stadium are NSU Station (coming from the west) and Ballentine/Broad Creek Station (coming from the east). Light rail schedule: gohrt.com/routes/light-rail
Free park-and-ride lots are also available at Newtown Road Station (Newtown Rd. and Kempsville Rd., which fills quickly), Military Highway Station (Curlew Dr. and Corporate Blvd.) and the lot behind EVMC/Fort Norfolk Station.
Please do not park at the Brambleton Center (909 Marshall Ave.), Phyllis Wheatley Hall (927 Park Ave.) or 1500 E. Olney Road and adjacent parcels.
Guests needing accessible parking should enter campus through Gate 8. Vehicles with a valid accessible placard or plate must also present a public parking pass or purchase public parking upon arrival.
Tailgating
Tailgating opens at 8 a.m. A tailgate parking pass is required to park in the tailgate area, and every person in the vehicle still needs a game ticket to enter campus.
Clear Bag Policy
William "Dick" Price Stadium enforces a clear bag policy. Permitted bags are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" with no tinted panels or decorations, one clear one-gallon resealable storage bag, and one small clutch or wallet no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" x 3". Purses larger than a small clutch, backpacks, cinch or drawstring bags, fanny packs, briefcases, coolers, camera bags, laptop bags, luggage and containers are not permitted. There is no bag check on site. Exceptions are made for medically necessary items and approved childcare supplies after inspection.
Security screening may include walk-through metal detectors, bag inspections, handheld screening devices and pat-downs when necessary. Cell phones, cameras, binoculars, keys and wallets are allowed.
