NORFOLK, Va – The Norfolk State men's basketball team travels to Baltimore for a pair of MEAC road contests, facing Coppin State on Saturday, Feb. 28 before visiting Morgan State on Monday, March 2.

Norfolk State (14-14, 7-4 MEAC) enters Saturday's contest following a 90-71 home victory over South Carolina State, improving to third place in the conference standings.

NSU VS. MORGAN STATE 

  • Monday marks the 71st all-time meeting between the programs.  
  • Norfolk State leads the series 50-20 after falling earlier this season at Echols Hall, 79-78.  
  • The series dates back to the 1959-60 season.  
  • NSU won five of the last seven meetings. 

BEARS SCOUT 

  • Morgan State enters the matchup with a 12-14 overall record and an 8-3 MEAC mark. 
  • MSU last played SCSU on Wednesday, Feb. 25 and secured a 90-83 victory over the Bulldogs. 
  • Alfred Worrell Jr. led MSU with 23 points each against SCSU shooting 6-10 from the field, 2-6 from three-point range and a perfect 9-9 at the free throw line. 
  • Eugene Alvin added 20 points while Rob Lawson contributed 14 to join Worrell in double figures. 
  • Christian Meeks recorded a team high seven rebounds in the game. 
  • Worrell leads the Bears in scoring with 463 points averaging 17.8 points per game which also leads the MEAC. 
  • Meeks leads MSU 151 rebounds on the season averaging 5.8 per game. 
  • MSU averages 75.7 points per game as a team while allowing opponents 78.4 ppg. 
  • The team shoots 43.3% on FGA, 33.8% on 3FG, and 73.9% at the FT line. 
  • Head coach Kevin Broadus is in his 9th season leading the Bears with a 131-132 record.
