LAFAYETTE, La. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 75 Louisiana on Sunday afternoon at Cajun Courts.

Competition began with doubles play where the point came down to the final court. Norfolk State earned the first doubles victory as the duo of Marcin Andrzejczak and Marcin Dójczynski defeated Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay 6-3 at the No. 1 position.

Louisiana evened the doubles tally with a 6-3 win at No. 2 before the deciding match was settled at No. 3 doubles. The Ragin' Cajuns pair of Darius Balan and Gianluca Filoramo edged Boris Lunin and Dominik Simunovic 7-5 to secure the doubles point and a 1-0 match lead.

Louisiana carried the momentum into singles play, claiming five of the six matches to seal the victory.

At No. 1 singles, Landreth defeated Andrzejczak in three sets 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-2. Tramolay followed with another three-set win at No. 2 singles, topping Szymon Malecki 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.

Samuel Kyjaci earned a straight-set victory over Szymon Janzen 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3, while David Simeonov secured the point at No. 4 singles after Dójczynski retired during the match.

Norfolk State picked up its lone point at No. 5 singles as Dominik Simunovic battled to a three-set victory over Balan, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-3.

At the No. 6 position, Gianluca Filoramo closed out the match for Louisiana with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 win against Kasper Kulpa.
