OVERLAND PARK, Kan. --- Norfolk State outfielder and left-handed pitcher
Thomas Ealey earned national recognition as the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week, the College Baseball Foundation announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The award honors John Olerud, a standout at Washington State who excelled as both a first baseman and left-handed pitcher in the late 1980s. He entered the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.

Ealey helped lead the Spartans to a weekend series win over defending Northeast Conference champion Central Connecticut State. He made one appearance on the mound, starting Sunday's finale and pitching two innings while allowing one hit and striking out three batters. At the plate, Ealey went 6-for-14 (.429) over the weekend with four runs scored, two RBIs and a triple.

In midweek games against Navy and VMI, Ealey went 6-for-9 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
