Spartans’ Season Concludes at MEAC Bowling Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Norfolk State bowling team saw its season come to a close on the opening day of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship, falling to top-seeded North Carolina A&T State and No. 4 Morgan State on Friday. 

Norfolk State opened tournament play against the Aggies, dropping a 2-0 decision. North Carolina A&T claimed the traditional match 1050-613 before securing the Baker total pinfall 972-657. 

LaShauna Burrus paced the Spartans in the traditional game with a team-high 166, followed by Savannah Stover with 128. In Baker play, Grace Geluso led NSU with 139 pins, while Aaliyah Allen added 135 and Burrus contributed 131. 

In the elimination match, Norfolk State faced Morgan State, where the Spartans were again defeated 2-0 to end their tournament run. Burrus led the way once more in the traditional round with a 144, while Geluso followed closely with a 137. Morgan State secured the traditional game 815-615. 

The Bears completed the sweep in Baker play, topping Norfolk State 979-715. Burrus posted a team-best 169 pins in the round, with Allen contributing 148.
