NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State baseball standout Thomas Ealey has been selected to participate in the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, earning a place among the nation's top non-draft-eligible collegiate players.
"We are incredibly proud of Thomas and this well-deserved honor," said Norfolk State head coach M.L. Morgan. "Thomas is a special player and deserving of this honor. This is an exciting opportunity for him to showcase his skillset on the national stage, competing amongst the best players in the country. It is a historic accomplishment for our program as well, and Thomas is the perfect ambassador to represent NSU on the national stage."
Ealey is one of 56 players invited to the prestigious training camp, which will take place June 25 through July 4 in North Carolina. The camp serves as the selection process for the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, with the final roster being announced on July 5.
Ealey's invitation places him among an elite group of collegiate players from across the country and marks a significant milestone for Norfolk State Baseball. The selection is the first USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp invitation in program history.
The Collegiate National Team will represent the United States at the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship, scheduled for July 11-15 in Taichung City, Taiwan. The international tournament will feature teams from the United States, Chinese Taipei, Japan, and Korea, bringing together some of the world's premier collegiate baseball talent.
The training camp schedule includes a series of exhibition contests against Appalachian League opponents from June 27-29, followed by the annual Stars vs. Stripes Series from June 30 through July 4. The five-game series serves as the final evaluation period for Team USA coaches before selecting the roster that will compete internationally.
