NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University junior Hillary Cheruiyot (Eldoret, Kenya) was recognized Wednesday at the MEAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced.

Cheruiyot finished first out of 42 runners and led his team to a first place finish with a time of 25:49 at the Norfolk State Invitational. It was the fastest time in the MEAC that weekend.

This is the second time this season that Cheruiyot has earned weekly honors.

Both Spartan teams run at the William & Mary Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge this Saturday.
