NORFOLK, Va. — The Florida A&M volleyball team improved to 7-5 overall and 4-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a 3-0 (30-24, 30-18, 30-22) win over Norfolk State on Sunday afternoon at Joseph Echols Hall.
The Lady Rattlers were led by Iva Lakic who had 16 kills. Maria Gomez hit .429 with 10 kills and two service aces and Jovana Blazeski had a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs. Zaira Manzo had a match-high 44 assists.
For the Spartans (5-20, 2-3),
Vanessa Faircloth (Lumberton, N.C.) and
Chantel Cherry (Portsmouth, Va.) each had 10 kills.
Yolanda Roberts (Virginia Beach, Va.) had a team-high 15 digs, while
Abaina Farrell (Charlotte Amalie, U.S.V.I.) and
Shardonay Blueford (Chesapeake, Va.) had 14 and 13 respectively.
NSU travels to Greensboro, N.C. for a MEAC match against North Carolina A&T at 6 p.m. on Friday.
