INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Norfolk State University freshman Marlon Woods (Norfolk, Va.) earned a pair of third place finishes in field events on Thursday afternoon at the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
In the junior division, Woods cleared a height of 6 feet, 10 ¾ inches in the high jump and leaped 23-10 ¾ inches in the long jump to earn third place finishes in each event. Kevin Snyder of Oklahoma won the high jump with a mark of 6-11 ¾ inches, while Jason Allen of Maryland won the long jump with a top jump of 24-5.
Woods will also take part in the triple jump, which is scheduled for Friday at 1:20 p.m. EDT. He placed second in the triple jump at the 2007 MEAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a jump of 49 feet, 1.75 inches.
