WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Norfolk State bowling team capped its MEAC schedule by going 6-4 at the MEAC Southern Division meet hosted by Winston-Salem State last weekend.
The Spartans (21-19) went 3-2 in Saturday's team games with wins over WSSU, North Carolina A&T and South Carolina State. Sophomore Tiffany Hunt (Norfolk, Va.) was the Spartans' top bowler in the team games, knocking down 902 pins for a 180.4 average. She rolled a season-high 215 in the win over WSSU. Cathryn Myrick (Virginia Beach, Va.) was close behind with a 176.6 average.
The Spartans went 3-2 in Sunday's baker games, beating WSSU, Bethune-Cookman and North Carolina A&T.
NSU has off this weekend before returning to the lanes at the Bowie State Classic Jan. 26-27.
