UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Freshmen Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) and Tanisha Jenkins (Louisa, Va.) continued their stellar indoor track seasons by tallying season-best performances and earning top-10 finishes on Saturday at the Penn State Invitational.

Chichester placed fourth in the 800 meters by running a season-best time of 2:15.07. Jenkins, meanwhile, highlighted the Spartan women's efforts in the field events by taking sixth place in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 39 feet, 1 ¼ inches.

The NSU women also sent a small contingent of athletes to the CNU Invitational in Newport News. Sasha Wilson (West Columbia, S.C.), Danielle Drummer (Norfolk, Va.) and Janet Brown (Chesapeake, Va.) earned top-five finishes in field events. Wilson was second in the shot put, Drummer was third in the triple jump and Brown fourth in the long jump.

The Spartan women compete next Saturday at the HBCU Invitational in Landover, Md., which will also be the site for the 2008 MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championship.
