NSU Volleyball Dominates Virginia State, Wins 3-0

ETTRICK, Va.Breanna Allums (Channelview, Tex.) had a match-high nine kills as the Norfolk State volleyball team downed Virginia State 3-0 at Wednesday night at Daniels Gym. The Spartans won the match 25-14, 25-11, 25-15.

NSU (5-19) outplayed VSU (6-14) in just about every aspect of the game. As a team, the Spartans had 39 kills, 32 assists, 32 digs and hit .377. The Lady Trojans tallied 18 kills, 15 assists, 24 digs and hit -.020 for the match.

For VSU, Jasmine Davis had a team-high five kills and registered all three of the team's service aces.

Elayne Greer (Bakersfield, Calif.) hit .667 with seven kills and a solo block for NSU. Aurelia Isham (Lancaster, Tex.) and Angie Clewis (Glen Heights, Tex.) each recorded six kills. Isham hit .308 and added four digs, while Clewis .417 with one dig and a solo block.

The Spartans travel to Greensboro, N.C. on Friday to take on North Carolina A&T in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match. NSU (2-3 MEAC) won the earlier meeting with A&T (3-18, 0-3) 3-1 at Echols Hall.
