Game Notes
NORFOLK, Va. - NSU caps the 2008 season by visiting Winston-Salem State University in a non-conference football game this Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
The Spartans had their two-game winning streak snapped last week when Delaware State rallied from a 28-10 halftime deficit to win 34-28 at Dick Price Stadium. NSU, which led 28-7 in the second quarter, failed to find the end zone in the second half and fell when Jaashawn Jones' 1-yard run with 26 seconds left broke a 28-all tie. Quarterback Dennis Brown accounted for 208 yards of total offense and three touchdowns for NSU.
Now, the Spartans will look to send its seniors out on a high note and gain momentum for next year's returnees this week at WSSU, a school NSU has not visited since 1996 when both teams competed in Division II.
The Rams had their two-game win streak snapped when they fell 23-16 at North Carolina Central
last Saturday. WSSU was done in by four turnovers and was limited to 196 yards of total offense. The
Rams' loss came on the heels of two thrilling road wins, at Hampton (35-30) and Delaware State (27-
26) in consecutive weeks.
