Bowlers Win Twice at Morgan State

PERRY HALL, Md. – The Norfolk State bowling team picked up two wins over the weekend against stiff competition at the Morgan State Invitational.

The Spartans went 1-4 in Saturday's team games, with a 827-690 win over Winston-Salem State. Cathryn Myrick (Virginia Beach, Va.) rolled a 195 and Smith a 182 in that game.

NSU would lose contests Saturday to several nationally respected teams, such as Kutztown and Sacred Heart. Myrick averaged a 184.8 in the five games. Smith averaged a 166.8, including a season-high game of 190 in the loss to Kutztown, and Tiffany Hunt (Norfolk, Va.) averaged a 169.2.

NSU also went 1-4 in Sunday's baker games, with a win over Adelphi and losses to South Carolina State, UMES, Central Missouri and St. Francis. The losses to MSU and UMES came by a total of six pins.

The Spartans (36-39) are off until taking part in the March 15-16 at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Tennessee.
