NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State tennis team dropped a hard-fought 6-1 decision to Florida A&M on Sunday afternoon in the Spartans' MEAC opener.

NSU's lone win came via Miroslav Vlcek (Vyskov, Czech Republic) at No. 1 singles. He topped his counterpart Clifford Malivert, another of the MEAC's top players, 6-3, 6-3.

Vlcek and Petr Krakora (Brno, Czech Republic) also won at No. 1 doubles, but the Rattlers won at Nos. 2 and 3 to take the doubles point.

NSU returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Winston-Salem State at 2 p.m.
