GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team ended its regular season with a 6-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win over Southern Division opponent North Carolina A&T on Friday at the Aggie Tennis Complex.

The Spartans (6-4, 3-1 MEAC) finish the regular season in second place in the Southern Division behind perennial power South Carolina State. N.C. A&T (3-15, 0-4 MEAC) failed to qualify for the 2008 MEAC Tennis Championship which will be held in Raleigh, N.C. from April 18-20.

NSU continued its dominating style of play, winning all three doubles matches and only dropping on singles match.

Winnie Quick was the only Lady Aggie to win a match. She defeated Brittany Foster (Norfolk, Va.) 6-0, 7-6 (7-3).

Stepanka Velebova (Tachov, Czech Republic) and Ashlee Daugherty (Las Vegas, Nev.) did not drop a game in the straight-set wins at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, respectively.

The Spartans are off until the MEAC Championship.
