Spartan Women Play at Wofford Tonight

SPARTANBURG, S.C
- The Norfolk State women's basketball team will take on Wofford College at 6 p.m. tonight. 

The Spartans are coming off a 66-49 season-opening loss at George Mason. The Spartans (0-1) were led by sophomore Marquilla Evans who had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds (career-high). Danelle Tate was the only other Spartan in double figures with 11 points. NSU shot 33.3 percent from the fi eld (19-of-57), outrebounded GMU 40-36, committed 24 turnovers and had 10 assists.

Wofford fell 84-53 at UNC-Wilmington on Sunday. Mahogany Williams led the Terriers (0-2) with 12 points and eight rebounds. For the game, the Terriers shot 34.5 percent from the floor (19-of-55), 56 percent from the free-throw line (14-of-25), and just 11 percent from 3-point range (1-of-9). They were outrebounded 47-40, had 27 turnovers to UNC-Wilmington's 18 and recorded 10 steals.
