VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Norfolk State senior Miroslav Vlcek (Vyskov, Czech Republic) was chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Thursday.

Vlcek, the reigning MEAC Player of the Year, won both his matches at No. 1 singles.  He defeated North Carolina Central's Jack Waissen in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to help NSU to a 4-3 win. Against James Madison, he topped Jared Robinson 6-1, 6-3. Vlcek also won both his doubles matches with Petr Krakora at No. 1 doubles to improve their season mark to 6-1.
