NORFOLK, Va.
– The Norfolk State men's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak by taking a convincing 6-1 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday afternoon at the NSU Tennis Complex.

The Spartans (3-10) won every match that was contested. Due to a lack of players, the Spartans defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Nonetheless, NSU responded by winning at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to take the doubles point. Arsenio Culver (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Ben Marks (Worcestershire, England) won 8-0 at No. 1, and Keenan Ruff (Norfolk, Va.) and Jonathan Sessom (Houston, Texas) took an 8-2 victory at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point.

Culver, Marks, Ruff, Sessom and Dexter McDowell (Suffolk, Va.) all won their singles matches in straight sets. Culver did not lose a game, while Marks and Ruff dropped just one apiece.

The Spartans are scheduled to host Liberty at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
