Final Results
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Norfolk State men's cross country team continued its winning ways on Saturday morning at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by William & Mary, taking the top three individual places en route to the team title on the 6K (3.73-mile) Eastern State Hospital Course.
NSU tallied 20 points. William & Mary was second with 65.
Junior Josef Tessema (Springfield, Va.) paced the Spartans for the second week in a row with another first-place finish. He crossed the finish line in 18 minutes, 27 seconds. Sophomore Vincent Rono (Bomet, Kenya) was second in 18:33, and junior Amos Kipkosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) was third in 18:34.
Junior Philemon Kimutai (Eldoret, Kenya) earned a sixth-place finish in a time of 18:49. Sophomore Kameron George (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the Spartans' top five in 13th place (19:47).
The Spartans will run in the Great American Cross Country Challenge next Saturday in Cary, N.C.
