Wells (22-8) picked up the win in both games, throwing three shutout innings in Game 1 while allowing just one hit. She allowed two hits in three innings in Game 2. Freshman

The Lancers got on the board in Game 1 with a single run in the first inning before a six-run third inning. Ashley Kramer and Tricia Nelson hit back-to-back singles to make it 3-0 before a two-base error on NSU brought home two more runs. Brittany Matthews lined a two-run double into right-center for the final two runs of the frame.
Back-to-back two-run doubles by Marci Christian and Leta Bressin in the fifth extended the lead to 11-0 before a sac fly brought home the last run of the game for Longwood. Wright, though, launched a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth just a few feet inside the left field line to put NSU on the board. Schulle and Boyd, who both had singled earlier in the inning, scored on Wright's fifth homer of the season.
Short went 3-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs and three RBI in Game 2. Her solo homer in the top of the first gave Longwood a 1-0 lead, and the Lancers scored five runs in the second, all with two outs. An infield single scored one run, and then Margadonna singled to center field to score three more runs with the aid of an NSU error. Short doubled in the next at bat for Longwood to bring home the last run of the inning.
Two errors by NSU on one play scored another pair of runs in the top of the fourth before Short hit her second homer of the day to center field to cap the scoring.
NSU will attempt to regroup with conference foe South Carolina State coming to town this weekend. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at noon.
