Day 1 Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Champagne Bell placed seventh in the long jump and classmate Kaleena Gray was 11th in the discus to lead the Spartan women's track team in first-day action at the Florida Relays on Friday.

Bell notched her second-best long jump of the season (19 feet, 4 inches) into a slight headwind. She finished fifth among collegiate athletes.

Gray continued her solid spring in the discus with a personal-best throw for the second straight weekend. Her top throw of 143 feet, 9 inches earned her 11th place. It also marked the second straight event in which she improved upon her previous week's performance.
