Final Results
BALTIMORE, Md. – Norfolk State first-year sophomore Champagne Bell won the women's long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 9 inches on Saturday at the Morgan State Legacy meet at Hughes Stadium.
The jump would register as the best in the nation this season, but likely won't be accepted by the NCAA because there was no wind indicated prior to the jump.
Bell and teammates Dania Sanford, Rayiana Johnson and Shanneka Claiborne also placed third in the 4x100 relay in 47.73 seconds.
Other top-five finishes were turned in by Elaine Rhoades (third in the 400m hurdles), She'Anna Mitchell (fifth in the high jump) and Kellen Rutto (fifth in the 5,000m).
NSU will send several representatives to the Penn Relays this Thursday through Saturday.
