Field Athletes Take Top Honors for NSU Women at Penn State, George Mason

 FAIRFAX and STATE COLLEGE, Pa.
– The Norfolk State women's track team notched a pair of top-10 finishes over the weekend, both from its field athletes, as the team was split between the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason and the Penn State National.

Junior Champagne Bell had the top finish for the Spartan women at Penn State. She tied for 10th in the long jump with a best effort of 17 feet, 6 inches.

Meanwhile, freshman J'Na Johnson registered a top-10 finish of her own in Fairfax. She tied for fourth in the high jump with a top height of 5-1.

On the track, freshman Torie Cunningham ran a season-best in the 200 meters. She clocked a 25.20 to finish in 19th place. Bell was 23rd in the same event, in 25.39.

The Spartans are back in action next Saturday at the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport.
