BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team competed this weekend at the ITA Atlantic Regional held on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va.

In the main draw of the singles bracket sophomore Laura Gutierrez suffered a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Marshall's Karlyn Timko.

Gutierrez and sophomore Mafalda Lhorca competed in the main draw of doubles matches where they fell to Navy's Erin Snook and Noelle Kaufmann, 8-5.

The Spartans begin dual meet action on Jan. 19 when they take on Old Dominion at the NSU Tennis Complex.  Play begins at 10 a.m.
