Day 2 Results
LANDOVER, Md. – The Norfolk State women are in sixth place after day two of the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
NSU still has 14 points, its total after day one. Hampton is in first with 84.5 points, followed by UMES, Florida A&M, Morgan State, North Carolina A&T and NSU.
The Spartans did not accumulate any points Friday, but did have a pair of second performances in preliminary heats. Senior Shanneka Claiborne won her heat in the 60 meters in 7.59 seconds. That was the second-fastest qualifying time Friday. Claiborne will run in the finals of the 60 and 200 meters on Saturday.
In addition, junior Champagne Bell won her heat in the 400 meters. She qualified fifth-fastest overall in 56.80 seconds. Bell will run in the finals on Saturday.
The meet resumes at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
