Final Results
LANDOVER, Md. – Led by two runner-up finishes on Saturday, the NSU women's track and field team finished in fifth place at the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
The Spartans tallied 45 points. Hampton won it with 161.5 points.
Senior Katie Wright had NSU's first runner-up finish on Saturday, placing second in the pole vault after clearing 10 feet, 11.5 inches. Freshman teammate Tiara Davis was fifth with a top height of 9-11.75.
Senior Shanneka Claiborne capper her indoor career by finishing second in the 60 meters in a time of 7.55 seconds. Freshman Torie Cunningham was sixth in 7.66.
The Spartans also got a solid effort from senior Jamia Hutto, who scored points in two events on Saturday. She was sixth in the 3,000 meters (10:52.36) and eighth in the mile (5:21.46).
NSU's other points Saturday came from junior Champagne Bell, who placed fifth in the 400 meters in 56.34.
